the middle class and tells them they have to support it. we have to make sure that the we wealthiest americans pay their fair share. >> will washington be able to compromise? if so that will that endale? we are joined by democratic strategist brian benjamin and republican strat byes brian morgan stern. >> is this possible? can congress compromise? >> yes, congress can compromise. it has to include a tax increase on the wealthiest americans. let's not forget it was under bill clinton where he taught 22 million jobs created we had a higher tax rate. i don't think this idea that higher tax rates stopped economic growth. what stopped economic growth is the parties making a difference. we have to come to an agreement and accept the fact that president obama won the election which included the tax increases for the wealthiest americans.

>> tell me what you think is fair if we do compromise and taxes are raised he ran on staying howls holds have been make that go money and above will see taxes go up. is that fair? >> no. that is a level that has to move. they are bringing other revenue sources to the table including capping deductions and closing loopholes. that number the president is digging its heels on are where the margin matters and it will effect the job market. the white house will have to give on that point. >> we don't want to see taxes go up for everyone. that tax rate we may see a compromise. with deductions and closing loopholes. >> what do you think we can

expect? >> both are agreeing on the same point. we are going to expect something small. we need to make a real difference on our deficit. we have to have serious tax increases. we have clearance spending cuts as well. we have to be fair. we have to rely on the middle class to take it to the front. >> does it make sense to raise taxes when the economy is so poor? >> it is a tough situation. we have a deficit problem that can create other problems down the road. we have to prepare for the future. the only way to do that is to have tax increases and understand we are in a tough time. so we have tax cuts for those who are making less money we will figure it out. the wealthiest americans have not paid their fair share since the busheir raw.
